On Sunday, November 5th, the picturesque town of Bangsaen in Chonburi province, Thailand, came alive with the exhilarating energy of the ‘Bangsaen 42 Chonburi Marathon 2023.’

This momentous event, held for the seventh time, witnessed over 12,000 enthusiastic Thai and international marathon runners, who took on the challenge of a 42.195-kilometer race, adhering to the standards set by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Amnat Charoensri, Deputy Governor of Chonburi province, and Mr. Rut Jirawannakitchakorn, Managing Director of MICE and Communication Company Limited. Their presence underscored the significance of the event and the province’s commitment to promoting sports tourism.

The Bangsaen 42 Chonburi Marathon has rightfully earned its place as one of the largest marathon events in Thailand, having been bestowed with the prestigious World Athletics Elite Label.

The marathon route was also carefully designed to showcase the province’s natural beauty, including the pristine shores of Bangsaen Beach to the serene landscapes of Laem Taen and Khao Sammuk. The event’s success signified Chonburi province as a premier sports tourism destination, with an estimated economic impact of over 400 million baht generated from the event.
