My friend and I recently treated ourselves to a lunch at the magnificent Yitong Restaurant & Sky Bar, perched high above Pattaya on the 12th floor of the luxurious Meliá Pattaya Hotel on Second Road. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something special.
The setting is simply breathtaking. With panoramic views stretching across Pattaya Beach and the Gulf of Thailand, the restaurant offers one of the most impressive dining backdrops in the city. It created the perfect atmosphere for a memorable dinner.

The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, blending contemporary luxury with traditional Chinese influences. The staff, elegantly dressed in themed traditional uniforms, welcomed us warmly and remained attentive throughout the evening without ever being intrusive. Their knowledge of both the menu and wine list was exceptional, and they were more than happy to recommend dishes and suggest wine pairings.
Then came the food.

The dim sum was outstanding, authentic, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. Each dish arrived like a work of art; a collage of colours, fragrances and textures that delighted all of the senses. The attention to detail was remarkable, and every bite showcased the skill and passion of the chefs.
Feeling adventurous, my friend and I decided to sample as much of the menu as possible. From delicate steamed dishes to rich Cantonese and Sichuan specialities, everything we tried was beautifully executed and packed with flavour. It is rare to find a restaurant where every dish leaves such a lasting impression.

Wine lovers are also in for a treat. The wine cellar is exceptionally well stocked, featuring an impressive collection of world wines and sparkling selections. If you’re uncertain about what to choose, the staff are incredibly knowledgeable and can guide you to the perfect bottle to complement your meal.

What impressed us the most about Yitong was that it isn’t simply a restaurant, it’s an experience. Fine cuisine, impeccable service, stylish surroundings and spectacular views all combine to create one of Pattaya’s most memorable dining destinations.

If you appreciate authentic Chinese cuisine served in elegant surroundings with world-class service, then Yitong Restaurant & Sky Bar deserves a place at the very top of your must-visit list.
I can honestly say that my friend and I left already planning our return visit.
