Thai people are offering their well-wishes across the country for the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who turned 68 today, April 2nd.

Thai people from all walks of life are celebrating this special day of April as it marks the birthday of Her Royal Highness. Many are seen wearing purple, the color that represents Saturday and the day that the princess was born back in 1955.

In the morning, Thais gave alms of offerings to monks to commemorate the day and wish the princess longevity. They also visited public places or temples to clean the places to show their unwavering loyalty to the royal family, reflecting the deep sense of unity and national pride that is so important to the people of Thailand.

Princess Sirindhorn’s efforts to improve the welfare of citizens have been widely acknowledged both within Thailand and beyond its borders.
