As the Coronavirus pandemic winds down in Thailand (but still very much an issue worldwide) I have had more time to return to what I love to do… freestyle writing about the good things around town and about local Pattaya businesses and places that are worth checking out.
It’s why we originally created Unplugged, to highlight the town to potential tourists and so that veterans and expats can give their feedback and tips in a nice to be nice helpful environment that is positive.
So today I am going to write a bit about Hungry Now and why I’m a fan.
First off, disclaimer that Hungry Now is a paid advertiser with banner ads for our news side of our business. However, this is not a paid advertorial and the opinions within are entirely my own.
Hungry Now is a true local delivery service. Owned by local residents, focused on Thailand and not a multi national overseas company. This is one thing they hugely have in their favor. They are working on building true local relationships with local restaurants and so far it seems to be working well.
They have perfect English speakers for customer service support for English speaking customers which could be an issue sometimes with other companies. Better yet, these English speakers are in Pattaya and not at a call center somewhere overseas like some of the big delivery companies. They know the town, they know the locations and in most cases they know their restaurant partners directly.
On the back end, drivers seem to be very happy working for them and their pay and benefits seem to be solid. They hire local drivers who know the streets well, many who have lived in Pattaya their entire lives and don’t easily get lost.
I didn’t like their app when they first came on the market but Hungry Now has made leaps and bounds in changing and improving it and it is now very easy to use for both English and Thai. They add partners all the time as vendors sign up for them around town and hear good things, especially about their professionalism.
If you haven’t tried it, I suggest you give them a try. I still often use grab and lineman as well, depending on what restaurant or food vendors I want to order from, but Hungry Now as they add more restaurants is improving often.
Finally, Hungry Now has had dozens of food giveaways and supported the local community during the Coronavirus pandemic as a small, new and growing local company and this is a good reason to support them in my opinion.
Thanks for taking the time you can find their hungry now app on all major platforms or find them on Facebook.
