Pattaya —
The Jet Ski World Cup 2024 is set to take place in Pattaya from December 11th to the 15th, with over 3,000 athletes from 40 countries in participation.
On October 24th, Mr. Suwat Lipthapallop, the Chairman of the Jet Ski WGP#1 Organizing Committee, presided over a press conference for the 2024 Jet Ski World Cup. The event was attended by Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, and Pol. Gen. Dechnarong Sutthichanbancha, President of the Jet Ski Association of Thailand.
Mr. Suwat stated that the Jet Ski World Cup 2024 will take place from December 11th to the 15th at Jomtien Beach, Pattaya. This event will serve as the final championship round for the world rankings, with over 3,000 athletes from more than 40 countries expected to participate.
Mr. Suwat stated that due to the high travel costs associated with the sport, which include transporting racing boats and equipment, participants are predicted to spend at least 150,000 baht per person. This will help generate over 450 million baht in revenue for Thailand.
Dr. Kongsak added that WGP#1 plans to extend the Jet Ski World Cup to 8-10 venues across every continent to attract more competitors to the final event in Thailand. This will increase the revenue from 450 million baht to around 800 million baht.
Additionally, during the event, the Jet Ski Association of Thailand will reward certificates of appreciation to volunteer athletes who assisted during the flooding crisis in the northern region of Thailand, as well as the Thai national team that won seven world championships in the United States.
