Chonburi, Thailand – Khao Kheow Open Zoo, under the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand, is inviting visitors and the public to join a special three-day celebration marking 48 years of service to the public.

Mr. Narongwit Chodchoi, Director of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, announced that June 1st marks the annual anniversary of the zoo’s opening to the public. This year, the zoo is organizing the “48 Years of Wild Thanks (Caravan of Thanks from the Heart)” event from June 1 to 3, 2026, to express gratitude for the continued support it has received over the past 48 years.

“On June 1st of every year, we celebrate the day Khao Kheow Open Zoo first welcomed visitors,” said Mr. Narongwit. “This year, as we reach our 48th anniversary, we want to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. We invite all tourists and local residents to join the festivities and create wonderful memories together.”

The three-day event will feature a wide range of family-friendly activities, including:

– Caravan of Wild Animal Food: Visitors can participate in feeding sessions and donate food and toys to the zoo’s animals, including popular residents such as giant capybaras, two-toed sloths, hippopotamuses, and many others.
– Anniversary Promotion: Thai adults born in June will receive a 20% discount on zoo admission.
– Music in the Garden: Enjoy live music performances amid the zoo’s lush, natural surroundings.
– Happy Zoo Mascot Photo Opportunities: Take memorable photos with the zoo’s animal mascots.
– OTOP Shopping: Browse and purchase local products from One Tambon One Product (OTOP) stalls.
– Research Exhibition: Learn about the zoo’s conservation efforts through displays showing successful wildlife research projects.
– Night Zoo Experience: A highlight for many visitors, offering the chance to observe animal behavior at night, which differs significantly from daytime viewing.

Special Free Entry on June 3rd Only
On the final day of the event, June 3rd, 2026, children (aged 12 and under or under 135 cm in height) and seniors (aged 60 and above) will enjoy free admission to the zoo.

The zoo encourages everyone to take advantage of this special occasion to celebrate its 48th anniversary and support wildlife conservation efforts.
