This evening, Thailand is joining millions of people across the globe in Earth Hour 2026, a worldwide movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise awareness about climate change and energy conservation.

The government, along with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and various organizations, is urging every Thai citizen and all sectors of society to participate by turning off non-essential lights and unused electrical appliances for one hour.

When: Tonight, Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time.

By switching off the lights together, participants symbolically show their commitment to fighting global warming and reducing energy consumption. Iconic buildings, landmarks, homes, and businesses across Thailand and more than 7,000 cities worldwide are expected to go dark for this meaningful 60-minute period.

This year marks a significant milestone as Earth Hour celebrates over 20 years of collective global action for the planet.

Everyone is invited to take part, whether at home, in offices, hotels, or public spaces. Simply turn off the lights and enjoy an hour in the dark while reflecting on how small individual actions can create a big positive impact on the environment.
