It is that time of year again….

When many bars throughout Pattaya have the girls decked out in Australia themed outfits….

When BBQ’s and beer can be found in even larger amounts then normal throughout Pattaya.

When Hilltop Hoods Cosby Sweater can be heard blaring from bar speakers, or perhaps long sets of AC DC.

When Pattaya’s many Australian tourists and expats come out together to celebrate their National Day in style.

For those who aren’t Australian here is, from Wikipedia, a brief description of the day:

Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British ships at Port JacksonNew South Wales, and the raising of the Flag of Great Britain at Sydney Cove by Governor Arthur Phillip. In present-day Australia, celebrations reflect the diverse society and landscape of the nation and are marked by community and family events, reflections on Australian history, official community awards and citizenship ceremonies welcoming new members of the Australian community.

We here at Pattaya Unplugged aren’t going to get into growing debate about the holiday from groups who don’t support it, we will leave that for different platforms and news web sites. We do, however, hope all the Aussies in Pattaya have a great day and enjoy themselves!
