Pattaya, September 6th, 2024-
The closing and award ceremony of the “Pattaya Short Film Festival Showcase” took place at SFX Cinema at Terminal 21 Pattaya in Chonburi Province. The event was presided over by Mr. Poramese Ngampiches, Mayor of Pattaya City, alongside Mr. Kritsana Boonsawat, Deputy Mayor, and other city executives. The ceremony was attended by a judging committee, contestants, and media representatives.
The festival, organized by Pattaya City’s Office of Education, aimed to enhance the learning potential of youth in film. The project ran from August 29th to September 1st, 2024, at Bali Resort & Spa Hotel. The initiative, named “Pattaya Short Film Festival Showcase,” sought to foster film education, participation, and innovation, aligning with Pattaya’s goal to become a UNESCO Creative City in film.

The competition concluded with the announcement of eight winners:
– Best Director: Jintawanwan
– Best Actor: Patpak
– Best Actress: Heart Without Sound
– Best Screenplay: Heart Without Sound
– Best Editing: 2 Houses 1 Friendship
– Best Cinematography: Jintawanwan
– Popular Short Drama: Jintawanwan
– Best Short Film: Jintawanwan
Mayor’s Remarks
Mayor Poramese congratulated the 15 student teams who participated in the training and competition. He encouraged those who did not win to persevere and praised the winners, urging them to continue developing their skills. He emphasized the “Better Pattaya” policy, which aims for continuous improvement and sustainable tourism in Pattaya.
