PATTAYA, Thailand – On the afternoon of September 15th, 2025, Deputy Mayor Mr. Kritsana Boonsawat chaired a preparatory meeting for the “Jomtien I.O.M. Regatta 2025,” a radio-controlled sailboat competition in the International One Meter (I.O.M.) class. Held at Surf Kitchen Restaurant on Jomtien Beach, Chonburi, the meeting included government officials, relevant agencies, and Mr. Wiphat Phromsuntorn, President of the Radio-Controlled Sailing Club, who presented the event’s format.
Organized by Pattaya City’s Tourism and Sports Office, together with the Radio-Controlled Sailing Club and the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand, the regatta is scheduled for October 31st to November 2nd, 2025, at the water sports area on Jomtien Beach (opposite Jomtien Soi 4-5). The event aims to promote radio-controlled sailing, enhance Pattaya’s tourism appeal, and reinforce its status as a Sports City, aligning with the city’s sustainable sports tourism development goals.

The meeting focused on key aspects such as facilities, land and water safety, medical support, competition venues, and promotional strategies for the I.O.M. event, which enjoys international popularity among athletes who value precision and technology in radio-controlled sailing. The regatta is expected to attract both local and international athletes and tourists.
Pattaya remains committed to supporting diverse water sports and international events to position itself as a regional hub for sports and tourism, boosting the local economy and elevating the reputation of both Pattaya and Chonburi Province.
