Pattaya, Thailand – February 25th, 2026
The skies above Pattaya Beach came alive with color today as the highly anticipated “Pattaya International Kite on the Beach 2026” officially kicked off. The fifth edition of this popular seaside event, themed “Sky Paradise of Happiness,” promises a week-long spectacle of giant kites, international displays, and family-friendly fun.
At 3:00 p.m., Mr. Siwatch Boonkoed, Deputy City Clerk of Pattaya City, presided over the opening ceremony on behalf of Pattaya Mayor Mr. Poramese Ngampichet. The event took place on Pattaya Beach directly opposite Central Pattaya shopping center, drawing crowds of locals, Thai visitors, and international tourists eager for the breezy coastal atmosphere.

Mr. Jetphat Charoenphipatgul, Assistant General Manager of Central Marina Outlet (representing Central Pattaya), delivered the report on the festival’s highlights. Joining the ceremony were key dignitaries, including Mr. Peerapong Sampru, District Chief of Banglamung; Ms. Panrada Attohi, Deputy City Clerk of Pattaya; Mr. Chaiwat Tamthai, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Pattaya Office; Mr. Worakit Nawasakulkiat, founder of Thaitan Kite Team Thailand; representatives from the Marine Department Pattaya Branch; the Director of Tourism Development; and officials from related agencies.
The festival, running from February 25 to March 1st, 2026, features impressive displays from international kite teams across more than 10 countries, with over 150 kites soaring along more than one kilometer of beachfront. Highlights include synchronized parades of giant inflatable designs, cartoon-themed creations, LED-lit nighttime shows (weather permitting), and interactive activities such as kite-making workshops for children.

Organized in partnership with public and private sectors, including Central Pattaya, the event is to reinforce Pattaya’s status as a premier beach destination and boost tourism during the high season. Visitors are encouraged to capture the sky shows, which depend on wind conditions for optimal flying.
The festival operates daily, typically from around 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or later, transforming the iconic Pattaya shoreline into a colorful celebration of creativity and joy. Families, photographers, and beachgoers are flocking to the area in front of Central Pattaya to enjoy the free spectacle.
