Pattaya, Thailand – April 24th, 2026 – The Pattaya Open Beach Volleyball Tournament 2026 officially opened on Friday evening with a ceremony held at Jomtien Beach in front of the D Varee Hotel. The event, organized by the Pattaya City Tourism and Sports Office, runs from April 24 to 26 and is to boost tourism, stimulate the local economy, and position Pattaya as a premier Sports City and Sports Tourism destination.

Mr. Pairwal Aromchuen, Deputy President of the Pattaya City Council, presided over the opening ceremony at 5:30 PM. Mr. Wisitsak Wongsawatchat, Director of the Tourism Development Division, delivered the official report. The event was also attended by Pattaya City Council members, participating athletes, and related officials.

This year’s tournament features three categories: Women’s Open, Men’s Open, and Mixed Teams (4 players). Competing teams will battle for trophies and cash prizes generously provided by Pattaya City. Organizers hope the competition will not only showcase local talent but also attract visitors to enjoy the beach atmosphere while supporting the local economy.

Speaking about the objectives, city officials spoke to multiple goals: drawing more tourists to Pattaya, generating economic benefits for residents, encouraging youth and the public to engage in healthy sports activities during their free time, and developing skills and experience for Pattaya’s beach volleyball athletes. The event also seeks to elevate organizational standards to international levels and strengthen Pattaya’s reputation as a “Sports City” and hub for sports tourism.

The competition is open to the public, with spectators warmly invited to cheer on the athletes courtside for free. Matches will take place daily from 4:00 PM onwards until the finals on Sunday, April 26, at Jomtien Beach in front of the D Varee Hotel.
