Pattaya —

Pattaya City is set to host the Pattaya Film Festival 2024, scheduled to be held from August 21st to 25th, 2024, in the hope of becoming a UNESCO Creative City of Film.

The event’s press conference recently took place at the Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya, with Pattaya Mayor Mr. Poramase Ngampiches in attendance.

The festival’s objectives include promoting tourism through film activities and pushing for Pattaya to become UNESCO Creative City of Film. The city has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 12 organizations to support this initiative. These organizations roughly include the Ministry of Culture, the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Office, the Department of Tourism, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, the Creative Economy Agency, and several academic and film industry bodies.

The Pattaya Film Festival 2024 will feature events across various venues, including Central Marina Pattaya, Terminal 21 Pattaya, Burapha University, and the Pattaya Mahatai School. Activities will include screenings of international films, outdoor movie showings, awards for the best films, film seminars, a documentary pitch to support Thai documentary filmmakers, and film trips showcasing filming locations around Pattaya.

The Pattaya News will provide a complete schedule of the films closer to the event.
