Pattaya, Thailand – On October 19th, 2025, the atmosphere in Pattaya was electric as residents and visitors flocked to the area around the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation (Na Kluea Temple) in Banglamung, Chonburi, to prepare for the annual Pattaya Vegetarian Festival. The day before the festival’s official start saw a lively crowd purchasing vegetarian food.
Local vendor Thanat Piyaphan, owner of Weng Phochana restaurant, shared that vegetable prices have slightly increased this year, a common occurrence during the festival. However, his stall maintained affordable prices, offering vegetarian meal boxes at just 50 baht each to ensure everyone can participate in the festival’s tradition of abstaining from meat. Thanat expects the turnout this year to be similar to previous years, with steady demand for vegetarian dishes.

Vendors set up stalls from morning until evening, catering to the influx of customers with a wide variety of savory and sweet vegetarian dishes, as well as snacks. The area in front of the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation remains a key hub for vegetarian food in Pattaya, attracting both locals and tourists who come to make merit and enjoy the festival’s offerings. It can be found next to the Lan Pho Park in Naklua, by the ancient seafood market.

The Pattaya Vegetarian Festival 2025 will officially run from October 20 to October 30 at the Nakluea Temple. Organizers invite the public to join in abstaining from meat, observing precepts, and performing good deeds for blessings and prosperity. The busiest times are in the evenings from 5PM until late and also features cultural shows and entertainment at times.
