I’m quite particular about pizza, and over the years I’ve come to believe that three elements determine whether a pizza is truly exceptional. The first, and most important, is the base. For me, the ideal base must be well cooked underneath, with a slightly sponge-like texture inside and just the right amount of crispness around the edges. That balance is usually only achieved in a proper oven, where the heat can create a base that is light, airy, and perfectly structured rather than heavy or doughy.

The second essential element is generous toppings, and the third is the quality of those toppings. A great pizza doesn’t just pile ingredients on top, it balances them so every bite delivers the right mix of flavor and texture.

Today I ordered a pizza from Fat Tony’s in Pattaya as a takeaway, and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. It actually arrived about 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled time and in excellent condition. Anyone who lives in or regularly visits Pattaya knows that cheese can be surprisingly expensive here, so I was genuinely impressed by the generous amount they used. The topping was well balanced across the entire pizza and tasted fantastic from the first bite to the last.

The pizza was carefully boxed and securely sealed, which meant the transport didn’t compromise its quality or presentation in any way. When I opened the box, it looked just as good as it tasted, something you can see clearly in my photos.

I ordered through Virtual Kitchen (Who for transparency purposes is an advertiser on our platforms but this is a reader review who paid for his own food and his own opinion-Editor), which offers a wide selection of international cuisines from several outlets. After this experience, I’ll definitely be ordering that pizza again. Next time, though, I might also try one of their other options, perhaps some Chinese food or a classic American burger.

Another highlight for me was the tomato sauce. A truly good tomato base should be tangy, with a balanced blend of herbs, spices, garlic, and just enough sweetness to round everything out. That’s exactly what I got here. It complemented the cheese and toppings perfectly without overpowering them.

But the real standout for me was the base itself. It wasn’t heavy or stodgy at all, just light, crisp, and beautifully cooked.

If I had to rate it, I’d give it full marks: five stars. I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a genuinely satisfying pizza in Pattaya.

Fat Tony’s is a delivery only pizza brand in Pattaya, part of Virtual Kitchen and available on Grab, Line, and Shoppee Food.
