Pattaya, Thailand — In a blow to hip-hop enthusiasts across Asia, organizers of Rolling Loud Thailand announced the abrupt cancellation of their 2025 edition just weeks before the scheduled event, citing “circumstances beyond our control.” The festival, slated for November 14-16 at Legend Siam in Pattaya, had been plagued by an unusual lack of updates, fueling widespread rumors of trouble behind the scenes.

The news came after months of growing frustration among ticket holders and fans. Early bird tickets went on sale earlier this year, promising a return to the venue that hosted the event’s successful 2023 and 2024 iterations. However, with no lineup announced as of early October—despite patterns from previous years showing reveals two to three months in advance—the event’s future had become a hot topic on social media platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter).

On Reddit’s r/rollingloudfestival subreddit, users voiced concerns as far back as August, with posts questioning whether the festival was “canceled or not”. Similar sentiments echoed on X, where fans tagged @RollingLoud demanding clarity, with one user noting the event’s “iffy” status amid bookings for accommodations and flights.

Rolling Loud, the world’s largest hip-hop festival series, launched its Thailand chapter in 2023 as a gateway to Southeast Asian audiences. Past editions drew massive crowds with star-studded lineups, including headliners like A$AP Rocky and Cardi B in 2023. The event blended global rap heavyweights with rising Thai and regional acts, cementing its status as Asia’s premier hip-hop gathering. This year’s cancellation marks a setback for Pattaya’s tourism-driven event scene, which has increasingly leaned on international music festivals to attract young, affluent crowds.

Organizers confirmed that full refunds will be processed for all ticket purchases via Ticketmelon, the platform handling sales. No further details were provided on the “circumstances” leading to the decision. The cancellation follows a pattern of turbulence for Rolling Loud internationally: Europe 2025 was scrapped earlier this year due to similar unannounced hurdles, while Miami’s edition faced its own last-minute adjustments.

Fans expressed disappointment online, with some calling it a “heartbreaker” after committing to travel plans. “We’ve been hyped for this since last year—now what?” one X user lamented. Others pivoted optimism toward the Mumbai show, hoping for overlapping talent.

Rolling Loud teased a potential return to Thailand in future years on their website, urging fans to sign up for updates. As refunds roll out over the coming days, the hip-hop community awaits word on how this ripple effect might impact the series’ global footprint.
