Pattaya —

The “Thai-Chinese IPSC Handgun Championship,” an international Level 3 practical shooting competition, will be held at the Thailand Sports Authority’s Eastern Region Training Center in Pattaya from June 7th-9th.

The event will see over 400 athletes from five countries, including China, the United States, Australia, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, in participation. There will also be 189 Thai athletes competing.

The competition will serve as the final qualifying event for Thai national team members who will compete in the Austalasia Championships on the island of Bali in Indonesia in late August.

Mr. Wat Srichintaankun, the main organizer of the championship, said that he felt delighted the number of participants exceeded the target of 400 people. He revealed there will be 18 stages, including a pre-match test and two equipment inspections four days before the actual competition.

Mr. Wat expected the event will generate economic value for Pattaya of around 12-14 million baht, with Thai athletes hopefully winning half of the medals.
