Pattaya, Thailand-

Thailand’s first ever trip to the quarter finals of the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup, a feat done as hosts of this year’s event, has come to a close but the team exited with their heads held high and their coaches proud of their accomplishments.

The Cup, in which the three top teams move on to the FIFA World Beach Soccer Cup, has been running on Jomtien Beach near Soi 12 for the past week in the Pattaya area.

Thailand played a tough United Arab Emirates team on Wednesday night, March 22nd, at 630 PM in front of a capacity crowd but despite loud encouragement from the hometown fans, lost in a tough game 2-4.

Despite this loss, the players and team told related media following the game that they were proud to have made it as far as they did and looking forward to the future. They also thanked their thousands of fans who packed the stadium for every one of their games over the last week.

The UAE, meanwhile, goes on to the Semi Finals to face the threat of a strong Iran team who beat Bahrain 10-0 the same night. The other set of Semi Finals challengers will be decided today, March 23rd, 2023. Defending champions Japan are heavily favored vs Kuwait. The other quarter final game is China vs. Oman.

Today’s games start at 630 PM and are free for admission but first come and first serve.
