Hi Folks,
Today I am going to tackle a question that some of our long-term readers may be asking themselves or, if you are here for the first time, you may be wondering.
What exactly is Pattaya Unplugged?
Well, we are going to tackle that question today and hopefully shine some light for new, returning, and experienced visitors alike.
First of all, we aren’t here to sell you anything. We aren’t selling condos, investments in bars, paid memberships, all-inclusive living packages, airplane tickets, hotel rooms, etc. That may be hard for some to believe but our website is completely free for all users. Our content is designed to do one thing-Help people learn about Thailand, Pattaya and encourage people to visit the city and country. Yes, we have ads supporting the page but we ourselves are looking to simply present information, advice, and of course the best information about Pattaya.
Our aim is to become the number one online destination for blogs, vblogs, reviews, submissions, advice, interviews, business highlights, events, and more for Pattaya and eventually Thailand.
Our goal is to present daily, varied, interesting information, articles, reviews, blogs, and vblogs that highlight the great things about Pattaya and what it has to offer, with a major focus on the positive things Pattaya has to offer and helping new visitors and tourists. We are not an advertorial site…if we have written about something you can ensure we are writing about it because we WANT to. There may be advertorials down the road but they will ALWAYS be clearly labeled as sponsored or an advertorial.
In the interest of transparency, we are associated with The Night Wish group which owns over 28 bars in the Pattaya area. Our co-founders are also owners of The Pattaya News, and are dedicated to being the Number One news source in Pattaya and, eventually, Thailand, focusing on unbiased, professional, factual news that directly interests tourists, residents, and ex-pats of Pattaya and Thailand. However, the two websites are separate.
We are strong believers that the News should be just that…the news…and detailed information, opinions, articles about the city in general, blogs, vblogs, funny pictures and videos, etc should be highlighted separately which is one of the reasons we formed Pattaya Unplugged as a complete media website. When combined with News we firmly believe it dilutes the message of the news and confuses readers.
We want to build a portal where local business owners can promote their businesses and provide interesting information, interviews, video blogs, and more. We welcome any business owner to submit to us a write-up about their business…for free!….to share with our growing audience.
We want to provide an area where local residents can submit their blogs and personal experiences and help other residents, building a positive and friendly community.
We are supported by our community and we support our community in return.
All of our core team and writers actually live full-time in Pattaya, Thailand. Many other similar websites are run by people who either come only for a holiday now and then or do not live here at all. We strongly believe that to consistently write about a location you need to actually be there. Any business or place we write about we have actually visited and actually speak from experience.
We want to be the number one stop for tourists and new visitors coming to Pattaya to learn about the city, its features, attractions, and everything they need to know-all all in one single spot.
We currently have two full-time paid writers as of March 2022, however, down the road will be looking for more talent as well as we grow. The easiest way to be considered is to send us some articles and material, get to know us in person and online, and be a candidate for the future. We always welcome submissions and guest writing for those who wish to have a platform for themselves or their writing. We are happy to cross-promote with other blogs and websites.
We are constantly improving and looking forward to continuing to bring you high-quality content for the future.
We are a bit eccentric and also want to show you the funny and zany side of Pattaya, especially on our social media side-thus the unplugged title. Stay tuned because if you love Pattaya as we do…the content coming is only going to get better.
Finally, although we will have some articles on the nightlife aspect of Pattaya, we feel there are more than enough sites out there that over-focus on ONLY that aspect of Pattaya and the hostesses that work at the bars, gogos, and discos of the city. We are interested in providing a total vision of the city and being family and tourist-friendly. We also aren’t interested in providing a negative platform….we aren’t here to do investigative reporting or provide a platform for one individual or business to attack another. We truly believe that everyone and every business has something to offer and present that as so at Unplugged.
Thanks, and we look forward to growing with you and providing great content from the city we love.
