Next month marks the return of the highly anticipated Pattaya Triathlon. On November 9th and 10th triathletes will compete against each other in a variety of different races. Thousands of people from around the world are expected to be in attendance with more than 1,200 of them being registered competitors. The triathlon is held in cooperation with Pattaya City and the Tourism Authority of Thailand and is sponsored by Toyota.
The event will consist of multiple categories of races beginning with a 5km or 10km breakfast run that begins at 06.00 as well as the Triathlon event itself consisting of a 750-meter swim near Bali Hai pier, 20km of bicycling around the Pratumnak and Beach Road areas of the city and a 5km run.
Participants who finish their particular race within the allotted amount of time will receive a finisher’s medal and the top finishers in each event will also be awarded trophies and cash prizes from 1,000 baht to 50,000 baht depending on the race category.
Visitors are encouraged to attend the event and cheer on their favorite competitors. Residents who reside in the areas of Pratumnak Hill, Thappraya Road, Bali Hai or the Pattaya Beach Road areas should expect traffic delays and be prepared for road closures and detours around the area of the event until it comes to a close.
From us here at Pattaya Unplugged we wish all active participants the best of luck and a safe Pattaya Triathlon 2019.
